Paul, Warren C., 91, Johnstown, died June 2, 2018, at McCullough Place. He is the last surviving member of his family. Born July 4, 1926, in Warren, PA, son of Sheldon and Rachael Catherine (Grubbs) Paul. Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Jane E. Garber, whom he married in 1951. She passed away on June 1, 2011. Also preceded in death by these brothers and sisters: James F., Osmar, Valjean, Iola and Janet; and beloved brother-in-law, Robert Swanson. Survived by children, Linda, wife of Anthony Taormina, Windber; Daniel, married to the former Maryann Slaventa, Destin, FL; Susan, wife of Thomas Cooper, Sutton, MA; and Cathy, wife of David Miller, Hollsopple; 10 grandchildren, Christina Taormina, wife of Richard Smith, Michael Taormina, married to the former Melissa Bosak, Amanda Paul, wife of Bradley Dubbs; Amy Paul, wife of Matthew Ritchie; Ian Cooper; Bonnie Cooper, wife of David Shearer; Owen Cooper, married to the former Toni Egnitz; Adam Miller, married to the former Alissa Selders; Ryan Miller, married to the former Gina Lauffer; and Autumn Miller, wife of Jason Tenerovich; and 10 great-grandchildren, Skylee Miller, Hayden Miller, Landon Miller, Joshua Taormina, Thaddeus Taormina, Allison Dubbs, Abigail Dubbs, Gianna Lushko, Miriam Shearer and Hannah Shearer. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War. He was employed by The Tribune-Democrat in the composing department for many years. He retired from there in 1991. Dad was always amazed that what started as a blind date arranged by mutual friends Bob and Priscilla Vincini turned into his surviving family. Warren prided himself on providing for his family, loved a shiny new car, and spending time outside in the sunshine. The family wishes to thank the McCullough Place staff and Viaquest Hospice for the care given to Dad. Friends received 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, where service will be held at noon at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Private interment, Richland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McCullough Place recreation fund or American Cancer Society.
