Wade Richard Roles

Roles, Wade Richard, "Rich"/"Pops," 74, of Johnstown, passed away May 24, 2020. Born September 9, 1945 in Johnstown. Son of Wade Ellsworth and Anna Grace (Jones) Roles. Preceded in death by parents, wife of 49 years Jennifer Roles, infant son Richard Patrick, and brothers Wilbur and Robert Roles. Survived by daughters Lisa (Brian), Misty, Leisha (Jack), Krista, and Tearza (Terrance). Grandchildren Darren (Nikki), Richard, Ashton (Andrew), Waden, Keirstin, Tierra, Andrew, Vanessa, Anaila, and TJ. Great grandchildren Aaliyah, Trace, Sophia and expecting a fourth. Siblings Sue, Clara Mae, Linda (Sam), Donald (Betty), David (Sally), Jean (Dewey), Roger, sister-in-law Ruby (Rick), and numerous nieces and nephews. Rich served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He was employed by Lee Hospital for 8 years, and Memorial Medical Center for 27 years before retiring in 2002. A great passion for the outdoors, Rich enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He could also be found relaxing on his porch with a cup of coffee where he welcomed everyone with a smile and long conversations. Rich loved history, Western and Kung Fu movies, baseball, Country Gospel music, and was a lover of all things sweet, especially ice cream. He will be remembered for his sharp wit, warm personality, superior work ethic, and nicknaming everyone he met with a jolly laugh. He adored his grandchildren and his beloved pup, Dickey. Rich was strong-willed; he fought with Parkinson's Disease for the last 10 years and more recently with esophageal cancer. Rich's family would like to thank Interim Hospice for their love, care and support, especially Ashley, Sandy, and Tabatha for their exceptional care. Rich will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Services will be private. Family is being served by Geisel Funeral Home - Johnstown.
