Thomas G. Selfridge

SELFRIDGE – Thomas G., 78, Johnstown, passed away Jan. 23, 2016, at home. Born Sept. 1, 1937, in Gallitzin, son of Telford and Helen C. (Burns) Selfridge. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Linda M. Selfridge; and sister, Dorothy Harvey. Survived by loving son, Steve Selfridge, married to the former Billie Howard, Greensboro, N.C.; loving companion, Janet Larison, Johnstown; son, Thomas Selfridge Jr., Florida; daughter, Sharon Patchell, West Virginia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Mowery, Windber; and Bernadette Selfridge, Windber; and many nieces and nephews. Thomas retired after many years from Bethlehem Steel Corp., having worked the 11-inch mill. He also worked as a valet at Conemaugh Hospital for more than five years. He was an avid golfer and loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and all the Pittsburgh teams. Tom served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Randy Bain, officiating. Entombment, Grandview Cemetery Mausoleum.
