Minana- Thomas Michael 63, of Roxbury, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at home. Thomas (as he liked to be called—never “Tom”) was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie A. Minana, his brother, Jeffrey A. Minana, and his stepfather, Ben (“Buddy Ben”) Custer. Thomas was a graduate of Johnstown Vocational Technical School and the University of Pittsburgh, Johnstown; he was an active member of the Harley Owners Group and A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania. Thomas was the proud owner of an immaculate custom Harley Fat Boy, which was bright orange and had no shortage of polished chrome. Thomas was an animal whisperer and immediately beloved by cats and dogs; he operated an unofficial zoo from his home, providing for his “critters” (skunks, possums, raccoons), feral cats and fish. He was naturally friendly, and no one remained a stranger for long. Thomas is survived by his sister, Kristine Mackey, of Irvine, CA, and his brother Stephen Minana, of Mechanicsburg, PA. Never married, he is remembered fondly by his nieces Marcedes, Charity, Alexis and Kristin. Thomas’ passage from this life was eased by the extraordinary care that he received from Nurse Elaine and Pastor Geta of Windber Hospice, and from Heartland Hospice especially Pastor Lee Seese, and Nurse Brian Sauro. Friends will be received Saturday February 8, 2025 at Geisel Funeral Home - Johnstown from 10AM until time of service at 12PM Rev. Michael Van Dyke officiating. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, Thomas requests contributions to the Nardecchia Spay Neuter Fund. Please visit www.geiselfh.com
