Susan Lynne Shaffer

SHAFFER – Susan Lynne, 49, Johnstown, passed away Feb. 3, 2016, at LaurelWood Care Center. Born Dec. 25, 1966, in Johnstown, daughter of Zane and Jo Ann (Varmecky) Hagins. Preceded in death by mother; paternal grandparents, Alex and Marian Hagins; and maternal grandparents, Daniel and Elnora Varmecky. Survived by loving father; loving daughter, Danielle, wife of Jon Kendig, and their children, Zane and Mackenzie; son, Staff Sgt. Andrew Shaffer; and sister, Amy, wife of Patrick Kopriva. Also survived by Jim Ballow, and niece and nephew, Elizabeth and Anthony Ballow. Susan was a volunteer at the Women’s Help Center and the Arthritis Foundation. She loved her grandchildren and will be sadly missed. The family would like to give a special thank you to all the caregivers and friends for their love and support. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Westmont Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Craig Miller, officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery.
