Shirley J. Cameron

Cameron, Shirley J, 89, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord February 7, 2024. Born September 22, 1934. Loving wife for 66 years of the late James L. Cameron. Daughter of the late Henry and Mabel (McDowell) Yonker. The youngest of 8, she was preceded in death by her 5 sisters and 2 brothers. Survived by son, Lawrence (Brenda), Northern Cambria; son Blake (Colleen), Johnstown; daughter Judy Carr (Pat), Jerome. She loved spending time with her 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Shirley was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren where she told the children's story for many years. She was a Middle Taylor Township secretary. She volunteered her time for 30 years as a water aerobics instructor at the YMCA. She enjoyed bowling and roller skating as well as preparing delicious meals on holidays for her large family. Family and friends received Sunday 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren, Pastor Rob Wolf officiating. Private interment Benshoff Hill Cemetery.
