Shawn David Oaks

OAKS – Shawn David, 16, Windber, passed away Nov. 19, 2014, at home. Born Oct. 26, 1998, in Abilene, Texas, son of Russell and Sherry Oaks. Grandson of Howard and Marcia McDowell. Brother of Ryan Oaks. Survived by grandmother, Carol Jones; great-grandparents, Richard and Rosalyn Rudnik, South Fork; and Dolores Hineline, Johnstown; aunt, Rebekah Hunt, Johnstown; uncle, Brian McDowell, married to Diana Sholes, South Carolina; cousin, Dustin Wherry; several great-aunts and -uncles; and close friends of the family, Jim and Darlene Johnson, Windber. Shawn loved animals, playing on his stomach, his Pooh toy, watching movies and loved spending time with his brother, Ryan. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Terry Knipple, officiating. Interment, Benshoff Hill Cemetery
