Ruth N. Kinsey-Birch

KINSEY-BIRCH – Ruth N., 89, Johnstown, passed away May 23, 2015, at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 19, 1925, in Johnstown, daughter of Edward J. and Ruth (Wilson) Evans. Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Charles E. Kinsey; second husband, Charles W. Birch Jr.; son, Charles “Denny” Kinsey; granddaughter, April; and sister, Katherine Patterson. Survived by children, Carol, married to Paul Horner, Delta, Pa.; John Kinsey, married to Nancy, Indiana, Pa.; Donald C. Kinsey, Johnstown; and David Birch, married to Martha, Brighton, Mich.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in- law, Sara Jane Davis, married to Boyd, Alum Bank; and nephew, Steve “Bob” Palov, married to Linda, Johnstown. Ruth was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church. Past president of Menoher Post 155 VFW ladies auxiliary. Member of Coast Guard auxiliary and DAV. Retired from Mercy Hospital, having worked for Dr. Morrison. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Pastor Larry Dunn. Private interment, Richland Cemetery.
