Robert Knieriem Obituary

Knieriem-Robert “Bob” Harry, 93 of Salix, passed away April 8, 2025, at Windber Woods Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 23, 1931, in Johnstown, son of Harry and Clara (Hook) Knieriem. Preceded in death by parents, wife Marjorie (Fretzel), daughter Kathy and her husband Kim Konchan, and daughter in-law Denise (James) Knieriem. Survived by loving children; James married to Debra (Meyers), Lakeside, AZ; Robert, Johnstown, PA; Thomas married to Sharon (Speicher), James Creek, PA; also survived by brother Donald Knieriem, Prescott, AZ; and sister Carol Jane McGregor, Shellsburg.  Also survived by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Bob was employed by Rudy Haupt Chevrolet as a mechanic and bodyman for 32 years and the Cambria County Transit Authority as a driver and mechanic for 14 years. Bob enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and golfing with his friends at the Maple Crest Golf Course. He also was a big Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan. Special thanks go out to the staff at Windber Woods, 365 Hospice and particularly special family friend Dorothy Berkebile. Friends will be received 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m. Thursday at Geisel Funeral Home – Johnstown where funeral service will be held 10a.m. Friday. Pastor Jeremy Barkley officiating. Interment Richland Cemetery.
