Robert Eugene Berkey

Berkey - Robert Eugene, 73, Richland, passed away Dec. 16, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center.  Born Sept. 13, 1942, in Carlisle, son of Paul and Sarah (Moore) Berkey.  Preceded in death by parents and daughter, Sandra.  Survived by loving wife of 49 years, the former Shirley Mae Holsopple; loving son, Robert Berkey Jr., and fiancée, Deb Cordell, Chambersburg; loving daughter, Lisa Berkey, and fiancé, Jim Bowers, Johnstown; and loving brother, Wayne Berkey, Windber.  Bob was a 1961 graduate of Richland High School.  He was employed as a mechanical fitter at U.S. Steel.  He also worked at Flood City Brass & Pump and JWF.  He served in the National Guard.  He loved farming and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  At Bob's request, there will be no viewing or visitation.  Graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Richland Cemetery, the Rev. Larry Dunn, officiating.  The family is being served by Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown.
