Phyllis J. Burkhard

BURKHARD – Phyllis J., 71, Johnstown, passed away April 16, 2014, at Windber Hospice. Born April 20, 1942, in Johnstown, daughter of Dwight and Orpha (Rose) Wissinger. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Elizabeth Trachok; brother-in-law, Anthony P. Burkhard; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Jones and Constance Mills. Survived by husband, Phillip C. Burkhard Sr.; children, Phillip C. Burkhard Jr.; Anthony P. Burkhard, married to Linda; Corrina, married to James Cinko Jr.; Melissa Bach; and Jenna, married to Ronald L. Kuzma; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brothers, Eugene and George Wissinger. She attended Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren. She was a retired cook and cafeteria cook at Maple Park School. Phyllis was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. At the family’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Walnut Grove Church of the Brethren, the Rev. Ron Barto, officiating. Arrangements by Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown.
