Natalee Smouse Obituary

Smouse, Natalee Ann (Altemus) 47, of Johnstown- passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 15, 2018, at the home of her parents, David and Beverly (Rhodes) Altemus. Her earthly journey was a series of never-ending challenging health issues that she chose to face with great courage, strong faith, a positive attitude, also with humor and a ready smile, never wavering in the battle. Natalee was a graduate of Bishop McCort High School and went on to Gannon University where she earned a degree in education, but her teaching career was cut short by her health issues. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her; always concerned for the welfare of others. She will continue to be an inspiration through the book written about her life and strong faith in the face of unimaginable adversity: Faith, Hope, and a Lifetime of Beautiful Scars. She will be greatly missed by her parents and her beloved daughter McKenna Smouse (Charles Sidor). Also survived by a host of friends, and extended family. Thanks to Pastors Brad and Cathy Westover for their generous love and support. Thank you Pastor Cathy and Steve Pastva for being there with us and providing comfort in our greatest hour of need. Natalees wishes to be cremated are being honored through Geisel Funeral Home. Join us in a Celebration of Life service at Flood City Church, Johnstown, PA. Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Please make a donation to CORE (Center for Organ Recovery and Education), JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), or local charity of your choice on Natalees behalf. Say a kind word to someone today or do a good deed and think of Natalee as you do. She would also ask you to be an organ donor and give others the gift of life. Thanks to UPMC Presby/Montefiore, Magee Hospital, Hillman Cancer Centers (Johnstown and Pittsburgh) for your expert care over the years; the staff of Windber Hospice, DaVita dialysis staff, Dr. B. Maharajh, and to all those who loved and prayed for her. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award me on that Day. (2 Timothy 4:7-8) His lord said unto him, well done, good and faithful servant. (Matthew 25:21) Geisel Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
