HILBRECHT – Myra Louise, 92, Johnstown, passed away Jan 11, 2015, at Arbutus Park Manor. Born Nov. 6, 1922, in Fiddlers Green, Pa., daughter of Charles and Sara (Kelly) Van Horn. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Vincent E. Gerber; second husband, Walther Hilbrecht; son, Gary Gerber; stepdaughter, Shirley Wiltrout; brother, Charles Van Horn; and sisters, Wanda, Elizabeth and Vivian. Survived by daughter, Barbara, wife of Ronald Kmett Sr., Johnstown; stepsons, Richard Gerber, Johnstown; and Donald, married to Margaret Gerber, West Virginia; grandchildren, Ronald Kmett Jr., Melissa Kmett, Sara Jackson, Gary W. Gerber, Vincent Gerber and Shannon Gerber; stepgrandchildren, Robbin Lucas, Vincent Gerber, Kevin Gerber, Myra Phillips and Brenda Wiltrout; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Barbara Champagne and Peggy Schmidt; special step nephew and -niece, Kevin and Marianne Rogers; special family friends, Patricia and William Eckler, Texas; and beloved dog, Ruby. Myra was a licensed practical nurse at the former Mercy Hospital. She was a 63-year cancer survivor. She enjoyed reading, and her life was devoted to helping others and taking the elderly to lunch, shopping and hair appointments. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends received from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, the Rev. Jeffrey Popson, officiating. Entombment, Richland Cemetery.
