Lucille M. Gilliland

GILLILAND –  Lucille M., 95, formerly of Johnstown, passed away Nov. 6, 2015, at Windber Hospital. Born Aug. 28, 1920, in Johnstown, daughter of Norman R. and Florence May (Butler) Custer. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Roger D. Gilliland; brother, Alfred R.; sisters, Luella M. Gardner and Margaret L. Streilein.; and sister-in-law, Jane Custer. Survived by several nieces and nephews. Lucille was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She worked as a saleswoman at Penn Traffic and Hess’ department stores. She was an avid reader. At Lucille’s request, there will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery, the Rev. David Stains, officiating. Family is being served by Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown
