Louis Raymond McGucken

McGucken, Louis Raymond, 95, of Johnstown passed away September 20, 2020 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born January 28, 1925 in Pittsburgh, son of John and Margaret (Schriff) McGucken. Proceeded in death by parents, wife Violet (Rubright), brother Olin McGucken, sister Elda May, and sons-in law Robert Wyar and Richard Williams. Survived by loving children Darcey and significant other Carrie Ellis, Sharon married to Steve Backof, Donna Wyar, Marcia married to Robert Ramirez, and Linda Williams, and fiancé Don Benito. Grandchildren, Jennifer, Desiree, Steve Jr., Brian, Stephanie, Dustin, Daniel, Sean, and Benjamin. Seven great- grandchildren. Lou was grateful to also be a part of the Rubright family. He was a decorated Army Veteran of WWII serving in Germany and Japan, and retired from the USPS. He was a kind and thoughtful husband having taken care of his wife for many years after her illness set in. He was a strong and loving father who set a good example for his children on how to take care of themselves and the world around them. He was a friend to all, and knew somebody everywhere he went. The family would like to thank the staff at The Villa for their excellent care during Dad's stay. If you see a Veteran please take a minute to thank them for their service. Friends will be received Friday from 1pm up until the time of service at 3pm at Geisel Funeral Home- Johnstown. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
