She was a member and secretary of the Challenger Bible Class for nearly 50 years, where she has many dear friends. She also worked part-time at Sears, Richland Township, in the Drapery Department for 24 years. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Russ, Scott, Dorothy, and Bernard. Her sister, Inez Murphy, survives. Her children survive, including James (Kathy Maley) of Johnstown; Bruce (Joni Fish-Gertz), of Avoca, New York; Dave (Jennifer Bell), of Richmond, Virginia; and Sandee Gertz, residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Her grandchildren will remember her as a blessing and "as everything a grandmother could be." They are: Jordan Umbach, Nashville, Tennessee; Micah Fish-Gertz, Albany, New York; Erich Gertz, Nashville, Tennessee; Christian Umbach, Pittsburgh; Jonah Fish-Gertz, Elmira, New York; Hannah Gertz, Richmond, Virginia; and Jennie Gertz, Johnstown. Lois will be greatly missed by her many friends and family, and by her special church family.
