Hunter, Leona Ann - 90 of Lancaster formerly of Johnstown, passed away March 26, 2017 at Evergreen Estates, Lancaster. Born January 31, 1927 in Windber, daughter of Antony Thomas and Anna Catherine (Miller) Strapple. Preceded in death by her parents, husband David Hunter, son Bruce Hunter, granddaughter Sarah Ellen. Brothers Edward, Joseph, Walter, Harry, Bernard, and Francis Strapple, and sister Martha Patrick. Survived by children, Robert Hunter married to Shirley, Lancaster, PA, Carrick Hunter married to Peggy, Houston, TX, David Hunter married to Joyce, Morrison, CO., Gordon Hunter married to Jill, Scott Depot WV. Rebecca Hunter, Reston, VA, Daughter in-law Donna Hunter, Johnstown. Grandchildren, Jill Couturiaux, Ryan Lester, Rosamund Hunter, Jennifer Doerre, Benjamin Hunter, Matthew Hunter, Alan Williams, Daniel Hunter, David Hunter, Dylan Hunter and Cameron Hunter, eight great-grandchildren. Leona was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Johnstown, and Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Lancaster. During WWII she was a welder in the defense industry. She was a teachers aid serving in the Johnstown School District. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received 6pm to 8pm Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 10am Monday, Rev. Toby Holland officiating. Entombment Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
