John Francis Shaffer

Shaffer- John Francis- 83 of Johnstown passed away June 22, 2026 at Heritage Ridge. Born June 6, 1943 in Johnstown, son of John and Gertrude (Lison) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents, brothers-in law Ron Stegman and Alexander Goff. Survived by loving wife of 60 years the former Vicki Chamberlain, and their beloved children; Lisa Mull and John (Heather) Shaffer. Grandchildren Erica and Mercedes Mull and Brandon Shaffer. Great – grandson Ezra Shaffer.  Siblings; Jacqueline Stegman, Marie Goff and Willian (Zoehanna) Shaffer.  John retired from the Army Reserves after 22 years of service. He worked as an auto parts salesman for various local dealerships including Laurel Auto and Suppes Ford. He had a passion for cars, especially Ford Mustangs. As a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, he stayed active volunteering at their fish fry’s. By request there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10AM Wednesday July 1, 2026 at St. Benedict Catholic Church Fr. David Peles celebrant, interment with military honors by VFW Post 155 will follow at Grandview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pinnacle Hospice 210 East Plank Road, Suite 10 Altoona, PA 16602
