John D. Rossi

ROSSI – John D., 65, Upper Yoder, passed away peacefully at home, Monday, April 13, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born Jan. 17, 1950, in Natrona Heights, son of Albert J. and Bernice (Nepple) Rossi. Preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael. Survived by loving wife of 38 years, the former Marcia Cowan; children, Todd, married to the former Jen Lybarger; Kevin, married to the former Amy Ashcom; Mark, married to the former Lauren Marron; and Katie Rossi; grandchildren, Danielle, Kyle, Sophia, Jack and Dominic; brother, Dan; sisters, Marianne Rossi and Donna Rossi; best friend, Bob Hepler; mother-in-law, Florence Marron; and in-laws, Chuck and Debbie, Gary and Nancy, Diane and Jay, and Denny and Joanne. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and close friends, Justin, Alyssa and Joe. John was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School, where he played football under Coach Dilts. He worked for Wean United as a crane operator and retired from Greater Johnstown School District as a math and reading specialist. John was a loving husband, father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. He will be sadly missed by family, neighbors and friends and was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at noon Thursday at Emmanuel Baptist West (Westmont Church of the Brethren), Pastor David Streets, officiating.
