Jerry Sheldon Berkebile

BERKEBILE – Jerry Sheldon, 83, Johnstown, passed away April 17, 2014, at Presbyterian Home, Johnstown. Born May 1, 1930, in Johnstown, son of Charles and Florence (Leventry) Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Charles Berkebile; and sisters, Henrietta Gilbert and Virginia Berkebile. Survived by loving wife, Miriam; loving sons, Jerry, married to Patricia, Midland, Texas; Gregory, married to Beth Ann, Belle Vernon, Pa.; and Tom, married to Jean, Johnstown; grandchildren, Matthew, and wife, Lauren; Kimberly; Jennifer, and husband, Bradley Smoak; Sergey; Katya; Adam; and Sarah; great-granddaughter, Lilly Ann; sisters, Violet Lehman; Lois Hewitt; Fern, married to Art Boyer; and Dawn Giariatano; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was self-employed in insurance sales. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Beulah United Methodist Church, Johnstown, the Rev.
