James William Saunders

SAUNDERS – James William, 80, Johnstown, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 17, 1933, in Enterprise, W. Va., son of John and Genevieve Saunders. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers- in-law, Arthur Putt, Raymond Dankert and Marlin “Bud” Rummel. Survived by loving wife of 56 years, the former Carole Rummel; children, James David Saunders, Johnstown, and Don Edward (Michelle) Saunders, Beaver Falls; grandchildren, Alisha, Ashley and Alexis; stepfather, David Blasch; brother, Jerry (Delores) Saunders; sister, Margaret Jo Putt; and sister-in-law, Shirley Dankert. James was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church. He served in the army in the 7th Calvary. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and sports enthusiast, especially West Virginia teams. James was member of Greater Johnstown Masonic Lodge 538. A loving husband, father and grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Pastor Randy Bain officiating.
