James Lux Obituary

Lux, James Herman , 65 of Johnstown, passed away September 19, 2022 surrounded by family at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 3, 1957 in Johnstown. Son of Herman Joseph and Grace Etta (Nicandro) Lux. Jim was the oldest of 13 children. Preceded in death by father, paternal grandparents Herman C. and Mildred Lux and Maternal grandparents, Margaret and Joseph (Frank) Nicandro. Jim is survived by his wife of 29 years the former Paula Gritzer, mother, and siblings, Karen Slezak (Ron), John (Karen) Joseph, Herman (Laura) Richard (Emily) Kathy Weeks, Thomas (Lisa) Lisa Bohannan (Daryl) Grace (Hilga ) Maria ( John Hess) Michael ( Melissa) and Mark ( Rebecca ) . Parents in law Ronald and Virginia Gritzer, Brother in Law Ron Gritzer ( Theresa ) sister in law Penny Miller ( Jimmie ). Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim was a 1975 graduate of Bishop McCort High School and Thadeus Stevens Trade School. Jim had an Associate Degree in architecture. Jim was the biggest Dale Ernhart fan ever. He had his #3 tattooed on his arm and he has a huge NASCAR collection. Jim was always the life of the party and when you became his friend, you were his friend for his lifetime. He loved his wife Paula with all his heart, even the last few years when he was sick, he was always making sure Paula was near him and taken care of. He was a faithful member of St. Andrew Church and couldn't wait to attend Mass again. He found peace with God at Mass. Jim also loved St. Padre Pio. He has many relics of him. Jim will be missed by all those who loved him. We are sure he is happy to be with Dad again. No more pain Jim. No more suffering. Friends will be received Thursday from 3-5pm at Geisel Funeral Home - Johnstown. Funeral Mass Friday 11:00am at St. Andrews Catholic Church Fr. Peter Crowe celebrant. Entombment Grandview Mausoleum. Donations may be made to St. Andrew Church, 1621 Ferndale Ave, Johnstown, PA 15905 in Jim's memory
