SHEARER – Irvin F., 91, Johnstown, passed away June 18, 2014, at Golden Living Center, Richland. Born May 7, 1923, in Bolivar, son of Franklin Irvin and Ida (Howard) Shearer. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Alice Wilson Bergman Shearer, who passed away in 2000; and son, Kenneth Shearer. Survived by loving daughter, Connie Custer, Johnstown; loving grandchildren, Hilary Goas and Bryan Custer; great-granddaughter, Adalaide Goas; and cousin, Jack Schoening. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 30 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having been stationed in Germany. He was an ambulance driver with 7th Ward Ambulance. Member of 7th Ward Civic Association, Hornerstown Crime Watch and Keystone Night Owls Radio Club. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
