Ida Mae Harbaugh

Harbaugh, Ida, 95, of Johnstown, passed away September 8, 2019 at Westmont Woods, Johnstown. Born November 2, 1923 in Johnstown. Daughter of John L. and Alma (Schmidt) Alt. Preceded in death by parents, husband Elwood K. Harbaugh Sr., son Elwood K. "Woody" Harbaugh Jr., brothers William, John, and Ed Alt, sisters Gertrude Dankert, Alma Raymond, and Catherine Alt. Survived by loving children Wayne Harbaugh married to the former Betty Hammond - New Jersey, Glenna Alt ( Ida Mae's caregiver and whom she resided with) - Johnstown, Janet married to David Pietron - Greensburg, Shirley married to Erik Whetzel - Boswell, Susan married to Larry Gojmerac - Johnstown, and Robert Harbaugh married to the former Carol Pisarski - Portage. Loving grandchildren Leigh (Jay), David (Becca), Chris (Justina),Stacey (Tyler),Michael (Andrea), Taylor, Kimberly (Ryan), Rachael, Courtney, David, Danny, Douglas (LuAnn) and Daune (Melissa). Loving great grandchildren David, Daniel, Harper, Dylan, Bentley, Hailey, Jace, Mya, Julianne, Kacey, Alexa, Jessica, Dylan, Elizabeth, Baby Dakota, and Baby D. Ida Mae worked at O' Shea's Candies for many years. She loved to do counted cross-stitch, having made many beautiful ones. She enjoyed adult coloring. Ida Mae loved her children and grandchildren, enjoying the time she spent with them. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her. Friends will be received 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Geisel Funeral Home - Johnstown. Where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Rodney Hatfield officiating. Interment Oak Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Cambria County Humane Society.
