Helen Ridella

RIDELLA - Helen, 93, Westmont, passed away April 13, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 25, 1922, in Chest Township, daughter of George and Anastasia (Margetan) Grozanick. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Peter Ridella; brothers, George, John and Andrew; and sisters, Dolores, Mary, Julie and Sue. Survived by sons, Eugene Ridella, who retired from Bethlehem Steel; Dr. Peter James Ridella, married to the former Kathleen Messich; Dr. John Ridella; and Julie Lehman; and grandchildren, Pete, Jimmy, Jessica and John. Helen loved her family farm. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed of the Psalms, Psalm 92 being her favorite, and a firm believer in prayer. She held very high standards for her children. A member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Friends received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Cambria City, Monsignor Raymond Balta, officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
