Helen Mae Alessi

ALESSI – Helen Mae (Jones), 90, Johnstown, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 2, 1924, in Salix, daughter of John P. and Lonie Mae (Carn) Harr. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Alessi; sons, Kenneth Charles Jones and Howard William Jones; brothers, William, Frank, Cloyd, Emory and Irvin; and sisters, Ada, Mary, Emma, Hannah and Elizabeth. Survived by loving children, Marie, wife of John Smith, Oklahoma, and Franklin John Jones, married to former Karen Bichof, Johnstown; stepson, Charles Alessi, married to former Vicki Peery, Altoona; and daughter-in-law, Saundra Jones, Connecticut. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was a LPN for over 20 years at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed reading and was a loving mother grandmother and great-grandmother who will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Jeffrey Popson, officiating.
