Harold Roy Shaw

Harold Roy “Harry” Shaw, affectionately known as Harry, Oil Can, Dad, and Pup, passed on to glory on March 29, 2026 at the age of 82. He was born on September 19, 1943, in Noranda, Quebec, to Mel and Dolly Shaw. Harry was the second of five siblings, growing up alongside Terry, Trudy, Cindy, Patrick, and Michael. He was raised in a home that was deeply rooted in faith, a foundation that remained an important part of his life.  Harry’s first love, hockey, brought him to Johnstown to play for the Jets. There he met the love of his life, Lee Ann (Geisel). They married on February 12, 1966. Harry went on to play professional hockey for 18 years. This journey led him and Lee Ann all around the country.  He is survived by Lee Ann, his loving wife of 60 years, all of his siblings and sisters-in-law, his children and their spouses, Celeste (David) and Brody (Jennifer), Seven grandchildren, Sadie (Noah), Maddie (Dillon), Griffen, Sophie, Willa, Lillie and Teague, in addition to two great grand- daughters, Delaney and Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents. Harry had a passion for creating things with his hands, and he found joy in making soup, greeting cards, and diamond art. Those who knew him will remember his overwhelming generosity, great story telling, and care for people.  His love for Jesus was reflected in how he loved those around him. His legacy will live on in the lives of those he touched. Friends will be received Thursday from 4-8p.m at Geisel Funeral Home – Johnstown, and Friday from 10a.m until time of service at 11a.m. at Oakland Church, Pastor Jeremy Barkley officiating. Private entombment Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oakland Church and Johnstown Christian School, two organizations that were very important to Harry.  He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
