RODDA – Frederick Martin, 87, Johnstown, passed away Monday, Aug. 4, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Sept. 23, 1926, son of Frederick Oliver and Bertha Cassick Rodda. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Ruth Rodda, who passed away in 2001; sisters, Thelma Campbell and Martha Zandish; son-in-law, Thomas Paluch; and grandson, Eric Rodda. Survived by children, Barbara A. Paluch; Fred Jay Rodda, married to the former Julie Hayes; Jon A. Rodda; Judy (Austin) Rodda; and Brenda A. Striegel. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and brother-in-law, Roger Hanlon, married to Diane. Frederick was a 66-year-member of Laurel Order of Moose Lodge 131. He enjoyed bowling and riding roller coasters. He worked for more than 60 years in the plumbing and electrical business. Member of Oakland United Methodist Church. His humor and personality will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, with Pilgrim ceremony at 7 p.m., and where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Pastor Randy Bain, officiating.
