Florance Marie Mardis

MARDIS – Florence Marie, 89, Johnstown, passed away Oct. 22, 2015, at home. Born Oct. 29, 1925, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Elmer Mardis; daughter, June Elaine Mardis; son, Elmer Charles Mardis Jr.; and grandchildren, Ronald, Dick and Nicole Bailey. Survived by loving children, Jeffrey Layton Sr., married to Karen, Johnstown; Ruth Keyser, Johnstown; Kathy Bailey, Johnstown; and Robert Mardis, married to Tammy, Johnstown; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Senior Life and also a member of the ladies auxiliaries of Turners, Daisytown and Cover Hill fire departments. Florence will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Pastor Joe Shawley, officiating. Private interment, Richland Cemetery
