Esther Mae Custer

Custer- Esther Mae, 88, formerly of Windber passed away March 21, 2026 at Hilltop Heights. Born May 7, 1937 in Johnstown daughter of Harry and Merna (Ripple) Rose.  Preceded in death by parents, husband Donald Custer, brothers; Harry and Robert. Survived by loving children; Colleen Horner, John Custer and Christina wife of Clifford Kauffman. Grandchildren; Samuel Custer, Kyle Custer, Courtney Custer, Christin Weaver, Shane Horner and Nathan Horner. Also survived by 6 great-grandchildren. Esther was a member of Elton Zion Church, where she served many roles and responsibilities.  She had a vast collection of nativities and enjoyed displaying them around her home all year round. In her free time, she was fortunate to be able to travel around the world, including Australia, the entire UK, and Jerusalem, just to name a few. Friends will be received Thursday March 26, from 4pm until time of service at 6pm at Geisel Funeral Home Johnstown. Private interment Richland Cemetery.
