WHITEHEAD – Elizabeth A. “Betty,” 95, Johnstown, passed on to be with her heavenly Father and be reunited with many loved ones Jan. 29, 2015, at Arbutus Park Manor, Johnstown. Born April 10, 1919, in Dunlo, daughter of Rolla and Margaret (Heinze) Pebley. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Homer C. “Spark” Whitehead; brother, Paul Pebley; and sisters, Dolores Badger and Nell Weaver. Survived by loving daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A., married to James M. Horvath, Richland; beloved grandchildren, Fred A. Robel and Faith, married to Scott Stewart, all of Georgia; and beloved great-grandsons, Logan and Aiden Robel. Longtime member of Beulah United Methodist Church, where she was involved in many activities and a member of Excelsior Sunday school class. A 1936 graduate of Adams Township High School and attended Cambria-Rowe Business College. She started her career working at her parents’ grocery store in Dunlo. She retired at age 70 from her job as administrative assistant at Cambria County Library. She continued to work to age 76. She was the most loving and giving mother, gram and great-grammy. Family meant everything to her. She was loved by all who knew her. Betty was always respected for her work ethic. She did incredible cross stitching and enjoyed word and jigsaw puzzles. She was always classy and well-dressed. The family would like to thank Brenda, Carol and Emma for their assistance in keeping Betty in her home as long as possible. They also would like to thank Arbutus Manor, west wing, and the activities staff and the Rev. John Hollis for all their care and support. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Monday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, the Rev. John D. Hollis, officiating. Interment, Richland Cemetery. We all will miss you!
