Dorothy Ann Matula

MATULA – Dorothy Ann, 82, Johnstown, passed away Jan. 1, 2015, at home. Born Jan. 14, 1933, in Johnstown, daughter of Harvey and Mary Ellen (Morris) Gordon. Preceded in death by parents; her husband, Ernest A. Matula; son, Paul C. Matula; daughter, Dianna Matula; brothers, Harvey, Ben, Jack and Paul; and sisters, Mary Ellen Naugle, Lois Baeder and Kathleen Chippie. Survived by children, Ernest L. (Sandra) Matula, Dennis J. (Barbara) Matula and Jeffrey M. (Stacey) Matula, all of Johnstown, and Marcella Weddell, Mount Holly N.C.;  19 grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren;  brothers, Tom, Robert and David; and sisters, Hope  and  Alice.  Also survived by many friends at Valley Pike Manor, including special friends, Barb, Eleanor and Shirley. Dorothy enjoyed bingo, puzzles and decorating for the holidays.  Private service will be held at the  convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s memory to Valley Pike Manor Activities Center, 1029 Franklin St., Johnstown, Pa. 15905. Arrangements by Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown.
