Dorothy R. Goughnour

Goughnour – Dorothy R. 94 of Johnstown passed away March 28, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center. Born September 21, 1931 in Johnstown, daughter of G. Edward and Rosella R. (Thomas) Deffenbaugh. Preceded in death by parents, husband Cloyd Goughnour, three brothers and one sister. Survived by loving daughters; Elaine (Alan) Fyock and Rose (Robert) Matera. Grandchildren: Christopher (Katie) Fyock, Daniel (Crystal) Fyock, Brett Birtle, Rebecca (Shawn) Snoeberger, Chrissa (Rob) Jaworski. Great-grandchildren; Paisley, Ruby, Chloe, Caleb, Phoebe, and an expected great-grandchild in August. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and close friend Randy Fyock. Dorothy was a life member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School, lead women’s groups and served in many other positions at the church where she was needed.  Her dedication and love for her church are an inspiration for all, and she always thanked her Heavenly Father for each day of life given. Friends will be received Thursday from 10:00A.M. until time of service at 11:00A.M. at Geisel Funeral Home- Johnstown. Rev. Mike Kenny officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.
