SHOWALTER – Doris Jean, 78, Richland, passed away Jan. 24, 2016, at Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Born Sept. 25, 1937, in Johnstown, daughter of Albert P. and Ethel A. (Secrest) Oldham. Preceded in death by parents; second husband, Stanley McGregor; son, Eric McGregor; and brother, William Oldham. Survived by loving husband, Clarence H. Showalter, Richland; loving children, Cheryl, married to Jack Marszalek, Pittsburgh; Julia, married to Michael Whorl, Johnstown; and Wade Moench, Orlando, Fla.; stepsons, Stephen Showalter, Hollsopple; and Donald Showalter, Denver, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special cousin, Nancy Kirimili. She was a deaconess of Moxham Church of the Brethren; was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War; secretary of all three Johnstown hospitals; and also worked at Penn Traffic; and retired from Dale Oxygen. Doris was an artist and was an actress with the Penn Woods Players. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Moxham Church of the Brethren, the Rev. William Wenger, officiating. Private interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
