Hersherberger- Lichtenfels, Doris Jean - was born on December 27, 1930, to Robert "Snap" Hershberger and Stella Blackburn. Doris graduated from Dale High school in 1949 and attended the University of Pittsburgh and Indiana University of PA. Doris was among many things, the former Executive Director of the Johnstown YWCA, former General Manager at WCRO radio, a Business Education teacher at Bishop McCort High School, former President of Johnstown Kiwanis, former President of the Ferndale Area High School Board, former Mayor of Dale Borough, and soloist for over 40 years at Franklin Street United Methodist Church. In addition when she found the time, Doris loved to travel. Doris was also a survivor of the 1977 Johnstown flood, in which her father perished. Doris is survived by two children, son Robert Dwight Lichtenfels and wife the former Tammy Reesey, of Johnstown, and Rebecca Lichtenfels, of Falls Church, VA. Two grandchildren Kasey Lichtenfels and Amy Ghezzi and two great grandchildren Kaileb Ghezzi and Riley Wolfhope. She is also survived by Margaret Killinger of Armagh, PA who was like a sister to her and an aunt to her four daughters. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 p.m and 6 to 8 p.m. at Geisel Funeral Home Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Terry Knipple officiating.
