Dean J. Weaver

Weaver , Dean J., 95, of Johnstown, passed away May 26, 2016, at Pennknoll Village, Everett. Born September 6, 1920, in Johnstown, son of Carl and Gertrude (Plack) Weaver. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Dorothy M. Weaver (2011); brother, Clair; two infant brothers; sister, Lois and son-in-law, David Unger. Survived by loving daughters, Linda J. Unger of York, and Marsha, wife of Barry G. Shaffer, Schellsburg; grandchildren, Brad Unger, Todd and Missy Unger, Ann and Fred Kepner, Scott Shaffer, Tim and Kate Unger; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Wesley and Ben Unger; Sisters, Jane Wilson, Winter Haven, Florida; Shirley Rogers, Johnstown; and Maxine Berkebile, Punta Gorda, Florida. Dean was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving on the USS N.O.A. Retired from U.S. Steel. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving on church council, in men's choir, Sunday school treasurer, and attended Tuesday fellowship. He was a member of the Lutheran Men's and Town and Country bowling leagues. Friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown. Also from 10 a.m. up until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Dale, the Rev. Toby Holland, officiating, Entombment, Richland Cemetery Mausoleum.
