BORING – Dakota Michael, 19, Johnstown, passed away Feb. 5, 2014, at Children’s Hospital after a courageous battle with a rare lung disease. Born Jan. 12, 1995, in Johnstown. Preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Alice (Karalfa) and James Maser and Arthur B. Boring Sr. Survived by loving parents, Tracy Boring and Joby Bailey; maternal grandparents, James and Janice Pozun; grandfather, Arthur B. Boring Jr.; maternal great-grandmother, Martha Boring; paternal grandmother, Ninny Bailey; brother, Brettan Boring; nephew and godson, Gavin A.J. Boring; and aunts and uncles, Bill and Bobbie Scherer, James Boring and Michelle, Maribeth and Dan Kiser and Angel and Scott Mader, and families. Also survived by special gaming friend and brother, Justin “Cliff” Harris, Las Vegas, Nev. Dakota was a dedicated member of Arbutus Church of the Brethren. He was an avid video gamer, and he loved computers. Dakota was his cousin’s personal jungle gym. Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, the Rev. Dr. Wilbert Boerstler, officiating.
