Carmella Marie Conway

Carmella Marie Conway was born in Johnstown on September 30, 1951, the daughter of Anthony and Yolanda Alessandro. She passed away on March 30, 2020. She was preceded in death by her mother and her sisters, Victoria Toth and Jean Roth. She is survived by her husband, Gregory Conway, her daughter Stacie Morello Griffiths and significant other Damian Chiodo, and her grandchildren, Victoria and Christopher Griffiths, her sister Josephine McVicker and husband Brad, their son Matthew, wife Deanna, grand nephew Maddox, and brother-in-law Richard Roth. After graduating from Bishop McCort High School, she worked at Royal Plate Glass followed by many years in banking at Friendly City, First United Federal and PNC Bank. She later worked for Cambria County Children and Youth and ended her work life as a Fiscal Assistant at the Hiram G. Andrews Rehabilitation Center. Carmella was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very much a family person, assisting her father to live on his own, attend church on Sunday, and travel to various medical appointments. She loved her grandchildren, was happy to baby sit each week, as often as needed, and enjoyed attending their school concerts, swim meets and Little League baseball games. She and her husband enjoyed traveling, visiting St. Augustine, New Orleans, the Grand Canyon and Sedona, Arizona over the last few years. She was also a sports fan. She and her husband attended many Steeler football games. A memorial service will be scheduled once the Coronavirus pandemic ends. Private Interment St. Anthony Cemetery.
