B. Marie Hiner

HINER – B. Marie, 97, Bedford, formerly of Geistown, passed away Dec. 30, 2015, at Colonial Courtyard, Bedford. Born March 20, 1918, in New Paris, Pa., daughter of E. Lemuel and Mary Catherine (Berkey) Lohr. Preceded in death by parents; husband, William Bruce Hiner, who died in 1997; sisters, Keturah Turner and Edna Lohr; and brothers, Carl, Earl and Ivan Lohr. Survived by sister, Irene Smith, Bedford; numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews; and  “special daughter,” Mary Weyant Long. Member of Homestead United Methodist Church. Retired baker, having worked at Mercy Hospital. She also worked at Swank Hardware and Ross Turkey Farm. Marie loved to make handmade quilts, garden and bake. She took care of and loved her family. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Emily Bird, officiating. Private interment at Schellsburg Cemetery, Bedford County
