Alta Jane Fox

FOX – Alta Jane, 81, Daisytown, passed away March 7, 2014, at Church of the Brethren Home, Windber. Born May 19, 1932, in Johnstown, daughter of John and Gertrude (Hoffman) Keller. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Bernard Nies, who died in 1957; second husband, James Fox; and sister, Gertrude Lichtenfels. Survived by loving sons, Robert Nies, married to the former Janis McClelland, Johnstown; and James Fox, married to the former Kathy Huber, Johnstown; grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Giardina and Michael, Robert Nies Jr. and Leah and Brandon Fox; great-granddaughter, Ava Nikole Giardina; and former daughter-in-law, Genny Nies. Member of Second Presbyterian Church, Moxham, and Daisytown and Cover Hill fire companies ladies auxiliaries. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Geisel Funeral Home, Johnstown, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Arthur Moffat, officiating.
