Jones, Sharon Ann, 75, finished her journey in this world Tuesday, February 16, 2021 after several weeks under hospice care in Simpsonville, Kentucky. Sharon was born March 8, 1945, daughter of the late Allison Fitzpatrick and Mildred (Ripple) Fitzpatrick in Johnstown, PA. Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, William (Bill) E. Jones. They met as kids who lived next door to each other, and after a brief period where Sharon taunted Bill and threw rocks at him (how all good romances start!), they fell in love and were married on August 21, 1965. She is also survived by her four children who filled her world with love: William A. Jones and his wife Stella of Simpsonville, KY; Jennifer L. Jones-Esser and her husband Dave of Waterford, PA; Michael A. Jones of Brooklyn, NY; and Brian A. Jones and his wife Tiffany of Jacksonville, FL. Sharon is also survived by many grandchildren: Tyler Jones and his wife LeighAnne of McGuire AFB, NJ; Sierra Jones of Jacksonville, FL; Bryon Raimondo of Erie, PA; and Kaitlyn Jones, Cooper Jones, and Casey Jones of Simpsonville, KY. And great-grandchildren JayLeigh and Josiah (McGuire AFB, NJ) and Inez (Erie, PA). Sharon is also survived by siblings Richard Fitzpatrick (Jacksonville, FL), Linda Gray (Johnstown, PA), and Shawn Fitzpatrick (Johnstown, PA). Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Ferndale High School and a graduate of Cambria-Rowe Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper at Sani-Dairy and at retailer Gee-Bee. In 1984 her family moved to Erie, PA and she worked for a number of years in the Millcreek School District, especially McDowell Intermediate High School and Ridgefield Elementary. Sharon had a passion for taking care of kids (her own or others!), and particularly loved Fall, Halloween, and taking long rides to view the changing colors of the leaves. She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Prospect, KY. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, February 23 at 4pm-7pm at Geisel Funeral Home, 734 Bedford Street, in Johnstown, PA and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday morning, February 24 at 10:00am at St. John Gualbert Cathedral, 117 Clinton Street in Johnstown Very Rev. James F. Crookston officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sharon's memory to the Humane Society of the United States or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
